Position Overview

The Division of University Advancement is looking for a seasoned donor relations professional with proven leadership experience as we prepare to enter our next campaign. The Director will be responsible for auditing, analyzing, implementing, and continuously improving the donor relations and stewardship functions in partnership with the Assistant Vice President of Donor Engagement and Advancement Services.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of related professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Ability to work collaboratively and building strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, constituents and volunteers;
* Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work;
* Ability to work effectively within a complex organization structure;
* Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database and word processing software;
* Knowledge of, or ability to learn, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by professional organizations and/or governing agencies;
* Skill in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;
* Ability to conduct short-range and long-range project planning studies;
* Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget;
* Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the administration of federal or state funds;

Preferred Qualifications

* Membership in the Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP);
* Familiarity with CASE best practices;
* Campaign experience in the donor relations/stewardship field;

Required License/Registration/Certifications

 

Job Duties:

  • Effectively lead the donor relations team members in carrying out the goals established. 
  • Audit, analyze and implement impactful stewardship and donor relations activities that help build the pipeline and increase donor retention. 
  • Develop and implement a stewardship plan for the Vice Presidents portfolio of donors, working closely with the VP and AVP for Donor Engagement and Advancement for appropriate and timely stewardship. 
  • Develop and execute repeatable, high-impact donor programs rooted in strategic planning and long-term relationship building. 
  • Collaborate with CSUs on the implementation of stewardship best practices building upon centralized standards. 
  • Achieve annual fundraising and engagement targets through strategic donor cultivation and stewardship. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Communicating with others to exchange information.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; some nights and weekends may be required
