Position Overview
This position provides academic support primarily to our fully online Business degree in General Business that is in partnership with Coursera. This position may help to support Ryan College of Business Undergraduate Programs in other advising capacities as needed. The position is responsible for reviewing students for compatibility with and admission into the program, advising students on degree/program requirements, and course scheduling. Maintains and updates student status records, transcript evaluations, articulation and application of transfer credits, degree plan audits, and graduation applications. Participates in outreach/recruitment activities, assists with monitoring the online virtual community in Inscribe, and may be responsible for assisting with training and mentoring other positions within the program.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in student affairs, student services, counseling, or professional academic advising.

Strong presentation skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to use a variety of complex computer applications. Ability to communicate effectively with populations verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work independently, adapt to working under pressure, and lead project teams effectively. Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to the functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).

Job Duties
- Develops and delivers presentations regarding procedures and program requirements.
- Assists with special events for outreach and recruitment.
- Leads special projects.
- Supports Ryan College of Business Undergraduate Programs Office as needed.
- Reviews applicants for admission and compatibility for the fully online BSGB program.
- Advises students regarding University requirements and individual program requirements including applicability of transfer credits in a timely and professional manner.
- Provides extensive follow up and programming as needed for students.
- Implements student success and retention initiatives.
- Confers with program project coordinator or Assistant Dean with regard to academic policy issues, such as acceptable course substitutes for a particular degree or student affairs issues.
- Prepares and updates degree audits and student records using advising technology (to include orientation audits and processing applications for graduation).
- Partners effectively with campus resources to make appropriate referrals.

Work Schedule
M - F 8 am -5 pm may include some evenings and weekends; position is hybrid and upon approval has the capacity for up to three remote days once fully trained.
