Department Summary
The Department of Student Experience and Academic Success (SEAS) at the UNT System College of Pharmacy is located at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) in Fort Worth. SEAS plays a pivotal role in monitoring the academic performances of the pharmacy students by reviewing progression, probation, absences, and leave of absences. We serve as the central hub for managing various academic logistics and support services for the College of Pharmacy. By fostering a holistic and well-rounded pharmacy student experience by engaging with the students to nurture their talents, build resilience, and prepare for their future careers, the office supports the academic and professional development of students from applicants through graduation.
Position Overview
The Student Experience and Academic Success (SEAS) Department at UNT Health Fort Worth System College of Pharmacy is seeking to hire a Pharmacy Academic Student Navigator to join our team. Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to supporting the Director of SEAS and SEAS team with the implementation of academic, professional, and wellbeing initiatives that foster the overall success of the pharmacy students. To be an available resource for students from applicant through Pharmacy Year 1 – Pharmacy Year 4 to ensure they are engaged and on track to graduate. Facilitates the logistics and performs tasks related to programmatic aspects for the College. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other UNT Health Departments to monitor and evaluate student progress throughout the curriculum. Gather and provide data under the direction of leadership for the System College of Pharmacy.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Demonstrated effectiveness in applying student leadership theory/practices.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree.

Job Duties
- Serve as a mentor to students within the College.
- Set goals for the cohorts, and develop a strategy to create community within the cohorts and maintain cohort-member enthusiasm and engagement throughout the year.
- Assist the planning and execution of all events and activities for the cohorts.
- Prep and debrief with SEAS team for each long-semester’s individual needs.
- Evaluate all cohort events to enhance or improve future programming.
- Actively meet and establish positive/supportive relationships with students.
- Act as the liaison between students and the College of Pharmacy faculty and administration.
- Act as the liaison between students and the university community.
- Facilitate and support community service and community engagement activities.
- Work with SEAS team on strategy to increase visibility and impact of the cohort system and create new initiatives, events, and ideas to improve the cohort system.
- Collaborate with course directors to implement the curriculum and activities that support the academic success of the program.
- Analyze student data and confer with university personnel to support the success of students. Establish and support the implementation of individualized development plans for students.
- Serve as a student advocate and collaborate with university staff in the development of intervention strategies for struggling students.
- Provides students with guidance and support within appropriate limits; refers students to additional support services on an as-needed basis; take responsibility for learning and complying with university policies including mandated reporting, discipline, attendance, etc.
- Complies with all documentation requirements in a timely fashion.
- Supports a smooth transition/progression of cohort students from one academic year to the next academic year up to graduation.
- Collect and implement student feedback when possible.
- Serves on College of Pharmacy and/or UNT Health committees and/or task forces as assigned.
- Complete special projects and duties as assigned.
