The Department of Teacher Education and Administration seeks to improve educational practice through the generation of knowledge and to prepare education professionals who serve all students. It focuses on the preparation of EC-6 secondary educators and school administrators who employ current theory and research.
Position Overview
The Teacher Education And Administration Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Coordinator to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Office management. Experience with payroll. Interviewing and hiring. Spreadsheets/excel. Travel, purchasing, inventory. Be a self starter. Know how to multi task and prioritize, while showing initiative.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exceptional customer service skills. Advanced written communication skills. Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures. Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others. Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats. Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively. Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness. Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships. Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Previous experience with Teacher Education and Administration at UNT, along with UNT policies and procedures.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties
- Employment/HR related tasks including job postings, offer letters, ePars, task and special payment processing, and summer appointments;
- GA/TF employment processes including TBP awards and communicating with TGS;
- Supervision of program support staff and hourly employees;
- Support Department Chair including scheduling of meetings and other support as requested;
- Track Department inventory and complete the annual inventory report;
- Track and manage space allocated to Department an d complete the annual space management survey;
- Track Department budget, including Department sources of funding;
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
