Position Overview
The University of North Texas Health Science Center Department of Pediatrics and Women's Health is seeking to hire an Administrative Coordinator to join our Team supporting the Maternal Health Program with duties related to the abstraction and case preparation of medical, legal and other records for the Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Considerable knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to the area of assignment.
- Skill in making mathematical calculations and computations.
- Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Public Health or related field.
- Experience with Data Analysis.
- Interest in Women's Health.
Job Duties
- Assist Program Manager as needed with quality assurance and review/preparation of medical, legal and other records for the Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee.
- Assure all files assigned adhere to Quality Assurance guidelines, including participating in discussions, inter-rate reliability processes, and validity checks.
- Assist in the maintenance of private, confidential file management systems to communicate about, receive, transfer, track, analyze, interpret and store confidential medical, legal and other records and documents of events leading to maternal death.
- Assist in data analysis and report preparation as needed.
- Adhere to all safety features to safeguard the transmittal, storage, handling and management of protected health information and other information requiring privacy.
- Review files to assure identifiable data elements (e.g., medical facility, medical providers, regional information) are in accordance with training and standardized document and information management methods (SDIMM).
- Notate documentation of discrepancies and/or omissions within records.
- Perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the department.
