The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being is bringing together an interprofessional team to develop innovative educational programs and research endeavors that focus on merging evidence-based lifestyle medicine with National Board for Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC) coaching competencies. Our graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and clinical skills to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams and to integrate behavior change theories into the delivery of medical nutrition therapy, preparing them to lead in advancing patient-centered, whole-person care.
Position Overview
The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being, College of Health Professions, is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian for a full-time, 12-month faculty position to teach in the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition Coordinated Program (MSCN). The MSCN program prepares students to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. This position may be hybrid, combining remote and in-person responsibilities at the UNT Health Fort Worth campus. The position is expected to start in March 2026.
The faculty member will engage in innovative teaching, student mentorship, course and curriculum development, and continuous quality improvement. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, contributing to the ACEND accreditation process, collaborating on research, and participating in service across the department, college, and university.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nutrition or a closely related field.
- Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
- Minimum two years of professional experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
- Experience teaching nutrition and dietetic courses or precepting dietetic interns.
- Commitment to the core Values and Behaviors of the UNT System.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of medical nutrition therapies, evidence-based dietetics practice, and current trends and practices in clinical nutrition.
- Experience developing and delivering engaging online and in-person course content.
- Experience mentoring and advising students on career development, research, and professional growth.
- Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems for course delivery and student engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with faculty, students, and community partners.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in nutrition or closely related field.
- Experience in clinical nutrition or functional nutrition.
- Online teaching experience.
- Teaching experience in an ACEND accredited dietetic program.
- Experience in ACEND competency assessment.
- Experience with ACEND accreditation processes.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
- Licensed Dietitian Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Job Duties
- Teach graduate-level courses in the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition program, including didactic and experiential learning.
- Develop and update course content to align with program goals, accreditation standards, and current evidence-based nutrition practice.
- Develop and maintain competence in distance education pedagogy and recommended practices.
- Mentor and advise students in research projects, supervised practice, and professional development.
- Collaborate with faculty and community partners on research projects.
- Participate actively in departmental, college, and university committee and initiatives.
- Contribute to program assessment, continuous quality improvement, and ACEND accreditation activities.
- Represent the program through involvement in professional organizations and outreach efforts.
