Department Summary

The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being offers innovative graduate programs, including the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition (MSCN) and Master of Science in Lifestyle Health Sciences (MSLS) programs. Our graduates are equipped with the knowledge, clinical expertise, and leadership skills needed to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams and apply behavior change theories in the delivery of medical nutrition therapy, preparing them to provide patient-centered, whole-person care.

Position Overview

The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being, College of Pharmacy and Health Professions, is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian for a full-time, 12-month faculty position to teach in the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition Coordinated Program (MSCN). The MSCN program prepares students to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. This position may be hybrid, combining remote and in-person responsibilities at the UNT Health Fort Worth campus.

The faculty member will engage in innovative teaching, student mentorship, course and curriculum development, and continuous quality improvement. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, contributing to the ACEND accreditation process, collaborating on research, and participating in service across the department, college, and university.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in nutrition or a closely related field.
Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Minimum two years of professional experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Experience teaching nutrition and dietetic courses.
Commitment to the core values and behaviors of the UNT System.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of medical nutrition therapies, evidence-based dietetics practice, and current trends and practices in clinical nutrition.
Experience developing and delivering engaging online and in-person course content.
Experience mentoring and advising students on career development, research, and professional growth.
Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems for course delivery and student engagement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with faculty, students, and community partners.
Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree in nutrition or closely related field.
Online teaching and course development experience.
Teaching experience in an ACEND accredited dietetic program.
Evidence of scholarly activity, including research and publications.
Experience with ACEND accreditation processes.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Licensed Dietitian and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Job Duties

Teach graduate-level courses in the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition program, including didactic and experiential learning.
Develop and update course content to align with program goals, accreditation standards, and current evidence-based nutrition practice.
Develop and maintain competence in distance education pedagogy and recommended practices.
Mentor and advise students in research projects, supervised practice, and professional development.
Collaborate with faculty and community partners on research projects.
Participate actively in departmental, college, and university committee and initiatives.
Contribute to program assessment, continuous quality improvement, and ACEND accreditation activities.
Represent the program through involvement in professional organizations and outreach efforts.

Responsibilities include supporting event logistics and registration; identifying and disseminating research funding opportunities; coordinating targeted faculty outreach; preparing and distributing departmental communications; maintaining Research Development web content and resources; monitoring shared email inboxes; assisting with faculty research funding inquiries; and maintaining departmental tracking systems for data reporting.

This position will serve as the Donated Body Program Administrative Associate and will be handling the mailing and processing of new membership applications, filing of death certificates, and supporting program leadership with other administrative tasks.

Associate Director, Career Services

The Associate Director Career Services is responsible for preparing students for internships within the community and engaging with area employers to stay up to date on the needs of their workforce. This person coaches individual students through process, facilitates group-level workshops such as mock-interviews, networking opportunities, and creation of personal brand artifacts as well as serves as instructor of internship courses for multi-disciplinary programs at the UNT at Frisco campus. This position also supervises two Career and Employer Development Specialists who serve all majors at the Frisco campus.

Assistant General Counsel

The University of North Texas System Office of General Counsel has an immediate opening for an Assistant General Counsel to join a dedicated team of attorneys and professional staff. The UNT System includes the System Administration, the University of North Texas, the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, and the University of North Texas at Dallas. The UNT System Office of General Counsel includes ten attorneys and seven professional staff located in offices on the institutional campuses and at the UNT System building in downtown Dallas. Director, Data Management & Business Intelligence

This technical leadership position directs DAIR data management, data quality, master data management, institutional definitions and data stewardship. The Director oversees analytical data modelling, integration, validation, and business intelligence products that make university information reliable, accessible and usable. The role leads development of dashboards and data visualizations for faculty, institutional reporting and benchmarking, and guides DAIR requirements and quality assurance during modernization of SAS-based analytics to Microsoft Fabric or other approved tools. The Director supervises assigned staff, sets operational priorities, resolves data issues with institutional partners, and contributes to DAIR strategic planning and delivery. Training and user enablement support adoption of these products but are not the primary purpose of the position.
