Department Summary
The Facilities Management team’s mission is to make The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth a place where the facilities and grounds are aesthetically pleasing, clean, well maintained, energy efficient and appropriate to support the institutional Mission and Vision. We are dedicated to providing services to the Health Science Center by maintaining an environment that is conducive to learning, teaching, and research.
Position Overview
The Director of Central Services provides planning, leadership and direction, and develops strategic short- and long-range goals and objectives for efficient department operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Asset Management, including the following: receiving/shipping, mail services, property control, RFID
* Regulatory compliance for tracking and reporting UNTHSC assets (construction in progress, original building costs, building replacement costs, building content values) to the State of Texas
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
* Ability to coordinate with various departments (Facilities, Finance, UNT Denton and UNT System)
* Ability to coach, mentor, and develop a team
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree; 8-10 years of experience; or combination of experience and education.

Job Duties:
- Administrative Tasks: Duties include making schedules, managing time, managing budgets, and hiring and evaluating staff.
- Train and Develop Team Members: Responsibilities include implementing training programs to teach team members the needed skills to complete their assigned tasks, providing resources, encouraging participation, monitoring progress, and recognizing and rewarding employees.
- Direct the Annual Inventory: Duties include ensuring the team is prepared for the inventory, the campus stakeholders are aware of their responsibilities, and physically assisting with the inventory.
- Manage Mail Room Team: Responsibilities include knowing current postal regulations, operating the Pitney Bowes postage machine, ensuring postage is tracked and charged according to HSC procedures, and physically assisting with mail delivery as needed.
- Manage Central Receiving Operations: This includes being proficient with PeopleSoft, Marketplace (Jagger), and Pitney Bowes shipping software as well as physically assisting with deliveries as needed.
- Computer skills: Skills include working with IT to test all upgrades to EIS / PeopleSoft and Jagger, training staff to develop desk guides, reviewing and editing completed guides, and ensuring webpages are up to date with current information.
