Position Overview
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Director of Undergraduate Recruitment Initiatives. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant VP for Enrollment Management and Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment Initiatives is an integral leader with responsibilities related to directing, developing, and managing undergraduate student recruitment functions and operations. The Director will serve as a key liaison with internal and external partners while providing supervision of freshman and transfer Admission Counselors through strategic leadership. The Director is accountable for successful execution of data-driven recruitment strategies and initiatives to achieve the University's enrollment goals.
The Director of Undergraduate Recruitment Initiatives serves as a project leader that develops and executes internal and external initiatives and priorities (i.e. Dallas County Promise, T3, Transfer Collaborative, etc.). They play a key role in increasing postsecondary enrollment by strengthening and improving admissions and financial aid application completion rates. They will collaborate with the AVP and other stakeholders to ensure successful recruitment and outreach efforts for transfer and direct from high school students.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and seven years of closely related professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures related to recruitment.
- Extensive knowledge of (or ability to rapidly assimilate) Texas rules and regulations related to undergraduate admissions.
- Significant experience with enrollment management, including developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising an annual recruitment plan and admissions plan in collaboration with university faculty and administration.
- Marketing and public relations skills with an advanced understanding of the role of outreach in reaching enrollment goals.
- Demonstrated experience with ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and university regulations and policies as they relate to admissions.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal constituents, particularly the administrators, faculty, and counterparts in other organizations within the University.
- Exceptional communication skills, including effective writing and public speaking
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- Master's Degree in related field.
- Experience working in a college or university admission or recruitment office
- Experience with student information (SIS) and client relationship management (CRM) systems, preferably Salesforce/TargetX.
- Knowledge of the college and financial aid application process.
- Bilingual (Spanish)
Job Duties
- Lead and supervise all Freshman and Transfer Admission Counselors. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring processes, setting of expectations, training and professional development, continuous improvement coaching, performance management and evaluations, and disciplinary processes.
- Develop, implement, and oversee recruitment territory assignment and annual data-driven recruitment plans for Undergraduate Admissions working in alignment with the AVP for Enrollment Management to meet KPIs for strategic initiatives.
- Plan annual strategies for participation in undergraduate college fairs, recruitment visits, and oversee recruitment programs, and collaborate with other Directors in the Undergraduate Admissions team.
- Measure accountability and impact of recruitment strategies and tactics, providing feedback and recommendations for process improvements in order to enhance undergraduate recruitment and overall annual yield.
- Review and provide feedback on marketing initiatives such as engagement campaigns, mailings, recruitment publications, and digital campaigns.
- Maintain effective communications with various university departments to facilitate efforts in the recruitment, application and enrollment process.
- Serve as liaison and partner to internal and external stakeholders related to recruitment initiatives and partnerships. Represent the university in a public speaking capacity and serve on committees as assigned.
