Position Overview
The Director of the Student Success Center and Testing Services oversees the student success coaching, the early alert program, and other specialized student programming in collaboration with other academic initiatives that promote student persistence and graduation. In addition, the Director guides the testing program to promote TSI college-readiness of new students and completion of college credit-by-exam, college and graduate school entrance exams, professional certification examination opportunities for students. Supervision includes professional staff, student paraprofessionals, and the TSI Liaison for campus. The Director of Student Success and Testing Services reports to the Assistant Provost in Academic Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in counseling, business, or a related field, and three (3) years of direct academic counseling experience in Higher Education; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of University policies and procedures (or ability to rapidly assimilate)
- Extensive knowledge of Texas rules and regulations, particularly regarding TSI administration
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Depth of knowledge in academic advising, student service, and student development
- Excellent communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships to promote collaboration
- Strong planning and decision-making capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in counseling, business, or a related field, and three years of direct academic counseling experience in higher education or any equivalent combination of experience , education, and training. Doctoral degree preferred.

Job Duties
- Student Success Center Management Academic Coaching Program: Design and implement a comprehensive coaching model Oversee both professional staff and peer coaches. Ensure quality and consistency in coaching delivery.
- Early Alert System: Develop and manage a campus-wide early intervention system Identify at-risk students using data-driven approaches. Coordinate response strategies across departments.
- Direct Student Support: Provide personalized academic success coaching. Manage a limited caseload of students Demonstrate best practices in student support
- Testing Services Management Testing Program Oversight: Direct a comprehensive testing program serving UNT Dallas students and the community Continuously evaluate and improve testing services. Ensure alignment with university goals and student needs.
- Security and Compliance: Establish and maintain strict security protocols for all testing operations. Oversee proper handling of test materials, scoring, and registration information. Ensure compliance with all relevant testing standards and regulations.
- Data Management and Collaboration: Facilitate efficient sharing of TSI and other test scores. Ensure data accessibility for academic advising and degree processing. Maintain data integrity and confidentiality
- Departmental Leadership Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise professional staff and student paraprofessionals. Conduct regular performance evaluations. Provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage department budgets. Implement data-driven budget allocation. Ensure fiscal responsibility and effectiveness.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on student data and department activities. Ensure accuracy for state, national, and accreditation requirements. Support university effectiveness through detailed documentation.

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; A few weekends, travel may be required.
