Department Summary

The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is located in the prestigious Cultural District of Fort Worth, TX. Our mission is to offer exceptional educational activities and to advance research in the anatomical sciences and allied fields.

Research strengths in the Center for Anatomical Sciences include biological anthropology, evolutionary biology, forensic sciences, biomechanics/functional morphology, and histology. The Center encompasses 8,000-square-feet of anatomy laboratories that support anatomical education, research, and outreach. The Center also houses dedicated research laboratories equipped for medical imaging analysis/morphometrics, forensic anthropology, thermoregulatory studies (environmental chamber), histology, and paleontological fossil preparation.

Center for Anatomical Sciences teaches dissection and prosection-based anatomy courses to Medical, Physical Therapy, Physician’s Assistant, and Master of Medical Science students. The Center is also home to the Structural Anatomy and Rehabilitation Sciences (STARS) PhD program that prepares graduate students to join the workforce as researchers and anatomy educators.

The Center also supports numerous K-12 science outreach programs, offering summer science camps, campus tours, and in-school events that introduce students to anatomy and its relationship to medical education.

Position Overview

This position will coordinate customer orders and ensure course needs are met for course held in the CAS facilities. In addition, this position will coordinate the return of ashes to donor to families after the course is complete

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes and to handle multiple tasks.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an University and/or Donated Body Program setting.

Job Duties

  • Coordinate courses with vendors.
  • Maintain the yearly spreadsheet of orders.
  • Coordinate all paperwork, serology and TFSC documents for courses.
  • Maintain calendars of CAS facilities.
  • Document payments to all vendor files.
  • Oversee the setting up courses held in CAS facilities.
  • Coordinate rooms, AV and catering for customers.

Physical Requirements

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
  • Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Environmental Hazards

  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Low temperatures.
  • Work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
