The Facilities department oversees all aspects of building maintenance and infrastructure on main campus as well as our Law Center in downtown Dallas— totaling over 300,000 square-feet of conditioned space.
The department consists of two divisions: Facilities Operations and Custodial Services.

Position Overview
The UNT Dallas Facilities Maintenance Department supports the campus by providing responsible stewardship and efficient operation of UNT Systems physical assets. The UNT Dallas Facilities Maintenance team performs routine and preventative maintenance and repairs of the building and utility infrastructure. UNT Dallas Facilities Maintenance operates, maintains and repairs UNT Dallas facilities and installed systems in accordance with applicable codes and regulations, and in conformance with established policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED equivalent and one (1) year experience in related maintenance/repair field; or any equivalent combination of experience, education or training
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and skill in use of standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of general maintenance task. Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of general maintenance. Knowledge of blueprints, schematics, and working drawings. Ability to use basic shop math applications. Ability to locate and identify problems in appropriate building system or equipment and to plan and execute necessary repairs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, professional work relations within the department and university community. Physical ability to perform moderately heavy physical work which includes lifting and crawling, and to remain outdoors in inclement weather.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years experience in either the HVAC or Electrical trade. Associate Degree or Trade School.

Job Duties:
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair MEP equipment at all UNTD facilities
- Inspect and verify satisfactory completion of work by contractors and others.
- Able to perform routine maintenance to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to operate computer based Building Management System.
- Ability to operate and reset Fire Alarm system, Fire Sprinkler System, Fire Pump, Stair Pressurization fans, smoke curtains, fire dampers, etc.
- Willingness to work overtime and unconventional hourly schedules.
- Willingness to perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Able to perform routine maintenance to plumbing, plumbing fixes and conduct plumbing repairs.
- Ability to perform basic routine maintenance on elevator systems.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, as needed or required on weekends
