Department Summary
Drawing on UNT's trail blazing heritage as the first graduate program in the nation to be accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis, and housed in UNT’s College of Education, the UNT Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC) provides clinical services to support learning, development, community participation, and quality of life of individuals on the autism spectrum. In addition to taking excellent care of children with autism and their families, KFAC is equally committed to helping young professionals build careers in autism (incl. UNT students from many academic departments and programs) and conducting research to help scale evidence-based practices in community settings.
Position Overview
The UNT Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC) is looking for a part-time Reception & Operations Assistant who possesses a positive attitude, a great work ethic, and the ability to work independently in a fun and fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required Skills and Knowledge:
• friendly, helpful team player who can work independently
• punctual
• great customer service skills
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• ability to be patient, flexible and to cope with stressful situations
• proficient in Microsoft office programs, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
• experience working with children and/or individuals with disabilities is a plus
Job Duties
- Receptionist and clerical duties.
- Greeting visitors and clients, and issuing guest badges.
- Answering phones, transferring calls appropriately, and relaying messages in a timely manner.
- Processing payments for treatment.
- Tracking client attendance and staff/client daily activities.
- Maintaining client confidentiality.
- Completing other tasks around the center, as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Environmental Hazards
No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Work Schedule
Shifts of up to 19 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
