The Department of English strives to promote a greater understanding of literature and culture; to add to literary tradition by fostering new works of poetry, fiction and nonfiction; to innovate in writing instruction, and to investigate the history of persuasive writing.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, and or/Yoruba.
Position Overview
The Department of English is seeking a Lecturer in English which will be a three-year, renewable full-time position. Responsibilities for the position include teaching four courses each semester and providing service to the department. This position includes a competitive salary and includes benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
MFA or PhD in English, Composition Studies, or related field. Demonstrated excellence in first-year writing instruction. Preparedness to teach at an HSI or MSI institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or expertise teaching developmental writing.
Additional experience or expertise teaching literature, language arts, rhetoric and communication, and/or creative writing.
