The G. Brint Ryan College of Business is the choice of nearly 9,000 students, making it one of the largest business schools in the nation. The Department of Management provides quality management education leading to baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees. The department also conducts high-level basic and applied research, engages in instructional development, and provides professional expertise and service to the department’s constituent communities.
We have three main academic areas: Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, and Sport Entertainment Management. In addition to being home to 20 tenured and tenure-track faculty, our department expects to have 20 non-tenure-track faculty (lecturers and clinical faculty) as of Fall 2026.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Overview
The Department of Management within the G. Brint Ryan College of Business (RCOB) at the University of North Texas (UNT) is seeking a full-time Lecturer of Business Communication, a non-tenure-track position.
Lecturers in the RCOB teach multiple courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and also serve as respected members of the faculty team and contribute strategically in service activities across the department, college, university, and business community.
Teaching requirements will include the development and delivery of face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction at the main campus in Denton, Texas, and/or at the Frisco campus, as assigned per the department's needs, and may include evening teaching.
It is expected that the successful candidate will live in or be willing to relocate to the Denton area (e.g., Dallas-Fort Worth area) by early August 2026.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a masters degree in business, management, or a closely related discipline relevant to teaching business communications.
Preferred Qualifications
At least three years of university teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, including face-to-face and online course delivery.
Relevant and applicable work experience in business environments that can be integrated into business communication instruction.
The experience and ability to teach other management courses if needed.
