Position Overview
The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a multiyear continuing Lecturer position in the area of Biological Sciences with emphasis on Microbiology and Immunology. Duties involve (1) teaching 3 courses per semester that could include Microbiology and Immunology at the Frisco campus with at least one course per year at the Denton campus. Responsibilities would also include (2) serving as an advisor (up to 25% time commitment) to our undergraduate students. This position is one of multiple open positions in the department, including tenure-track positions in cancer biology, plant biology, and computational biochemistry that complement recent hires in microbial genomics, endocrinology, neurobiology, and epigenetics.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements include PhD in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related areas and college teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with 1 or 2 years of teaching at the college or university level; prior experience teaching more than one of the following: Microbiology and Immunology; experience in undergraduate advising; research experience in microbiology or immunology; an ability to work with a diverse population; experience teaching face-to-face classes; experience with different learning technologies including Canvas and online teaching.
