Department Summary
As part of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, we offer undergraduate (i.e., B.A. and B.S. Majors in Psychology) and graduate programs (i.e., PhD in Behavioral Sciences, Clinical Psychology, and Counseling Psychology). Our Clinical and Counseling programs are APA accredited. The UNT Department of Psychology includes ~38 faculty members, over 3,000 undergraduate majors and approximately 110 graduate students.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Overview
University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for Faculty Lecturer position to join the Department of Psychology and contribute to our robust undergraduate program. Responsibilities include teaching an equivalent of four courses face-to-face (or online) and serving on faculty committees, as appropriate.
Lecturers will teach on the UNT-Denton and UNT-Frisco campuses, with Frisco being the primary responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited program.
- Interest in teaching in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching face-to-face and/or online courses.
- Experience with teaching a range of courses including experimental methods, statistics, and/or social psychology.
- Ability and willingness to teach several different undergraduate courses including, but not limited to, cognition, health and development, and abnormal psychology.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Effective organizational and technological skills including Canvas, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, statistical software (i.e., SPSS, R, Python, Exel, SAS), and web conferencing.
- Background and/or interest in undergraduate student mentoring and academic advising.
- Desire to take service leadership roles and seek career development and promotion.

Special Instructions:
Primary location on Frisco campus. This individual would teach at least 1 class each semester at the Denton campus to maintain a connection with the department.
