Department Summary
The UNT Health Clinical Practice Group is the academic clinical practice for the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Focused on improving health outcomes to build a healthier community. Clinical Practice Group primary and multispecialty care clinics are located on the UNT Health campus in Fort Worth. Our care teams extend to local hospitals, surgery centers, long-term and continuing care centers, and mobile and in-home care. The Clinical Practice Group’s interprofessional teams work collaboratively to achieve an optimized treatment plan tailored to the individual patient. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, specialized technicians, and nurses work together while intentionally integrating health care students, residents, and fellows to deliver care to our community.
Position Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager will work in partnership with the Clinic Managers and Medical Directors to administer and coordinate all clinical and nursing obligations within UNT Health Clinical Practice Group locations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, nursing, or other closely related field, active nursing licensure and five (5) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to apply concepts and trend analysis to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practice problems and to deal effectively with a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety on instructions, rules, and regulations furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
- Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office; NexGen knowledge preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration. Supervisory experience
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Active and unencumbered registered nurse (RN) in Texas or other compact state, BLS for healthcare providers
Job Duties
- Supervision: Ensures compliance with all HSC Health policies and procedures;
- Responsible for hiring, discipline, conflict resolution, and evaluations for clinical staff and associated human resources functions;
- Assists providers and senior management in establishing, implementing, productivity, and performance goals for all employees directly supervised, as requested;
- Clearly communicates with staff daily.
- Clinic Operations: Nurse management of clinical operations for the assigned HSC Health locations;
- Serves as the key problem-solving and conflict resource for patient, provider, and staff complaints for areas of concern, in conjunction with the Clinic Managers and/or Medical Director;
- Apply evidence-based healthcare practices and nursing standards;
- Review patient and staff data to measure effectiveness of patient care;
- Coordinate department and clinic communication-focused activities, including monthly staff meetings, regular and frequent leadership meetings, including meetings with Clinic Managers and Medical Directors.
- Responsible for the effective oversight of patient flow.
- Sets the clinic tone and example for all operational processes
- Financial Reporting: Ensure best practices related to purchasing, and supplies maintenance;
- Understands, develops, tracks, and recommends staffing models.
- Contributes to overall financial status through mindful spending and implementation of revenue generating initiative.
- Process/Continuous Improvement: Actively lead and participate in both department and clinic redesign activities to ensure the highest standards of behavior and performance are met.
- Monitor patient care for quality, safety and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other clinic leaders as well as interdisciplinary teams and other stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services.
