Department Summary
Rec Sports provides programs and services to the university community. The goal is to provide a positive environment to assist those individuals in exploring and learning about recreation and fitness activities, in order to enhance a better quality of life and to become active members of the community. Rec Sports employs approximately 250 students each year through various programs including Intramural Sports, Informal Recreation, Group Exercise, Sport Clubs, Fitness, Faculty/Staff Fitness, Outdoor Pursuits, Esports, and Aquatics. We hope that you will find the Rec Center to be a positive and exciting place to work. Below are a list of expectations and duties for our Member Services & Informal Recreation Staff:
Position Overview
Must be a currently enrolled UNT Student,
Responsible for checking patron's ID's upon entry, checking out/in equipment, special event supervision, oversight of facility laundry, and setting up/monitoring informal recreation programs (Volleyball, Badminton, etc.),
When working the Member Services desk, staff are responsible for running point of sale procedures, cash handling, and overall knowledge of facility/program offerings
CPR/First Aid required (will be taught and provided in house upon hiring),
MUST HAVE TRANSPORTATION TO AUXILIARY SITES such as Waranch Tennis Center,
Must attend Inservice each month for continued learning,
Must be dependable, trustworthy, intrinsically motivated, and focused on providing good customer service,
Other duties as assigned
Pay Rates: $10.50/hr Member Services shifts, $15/hr Special Event shifts
