Position Overview
The Program Director will plan and execute strategies for corporate outreach by the College of Engineering to include administration of Senior Design Projects, marketing research expertise, bringing companies to campus to take tours, meet faculty and students, and see research capabilities, with the overall aim of attracting corporate investments in the College of Engineering and its programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and five years' of closely related professional experience.

- Extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
- Extensive knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
- In depth knowledge of learning outcomes.
- Requires knowledge of best practices in assessment as it pertains to higher education and institutional effectiveness including the creation of outcomes, assessment methods and instruments, as well as data analysis, and utilization of reporting results.
- Ability to plan and conceptualize and make sound business decisions.
- Must exercise considerable independent and professional judgment in matters of significance.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and at least five years of professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, computer science, information technology or the sciences.
Job Duties:
- The Director will have administrative oversight of the North Texas Senior Design program and will actively recruit corporate partners as sponsors for Senior Design projects and other worthwhile corporate engagements with students, faculty and staff.
- The Director will actively market the research expertise of the UNT Engineering Faculty to companies and industries by hosting visits, giving tours, and participating in regional corporate and industry events, and serve as a point of contact for initiating and facilitating research contracts between corporations and faculty in the College of Engineering.
- The Director will maintain an active relationship with the UNT Engineering Career Coaches assigned by the UNT Career Center to help companies that want to recruit UNT Engineering students make deeper connections with the UNT College of Engineering.
- The Director will be alert to opportunities for philanthropic support from companies and industries for the UNT College of Engineering to include support of research, providing laboratory equipment, providing useful materials, underwriting student projects and student travel, providing student scholarships, supporting student organizations, and providing guest speakers. The Director will work with the Assistant Dean for Development & Strategic Partnerships on any support deemed to be philanthropic support.
- The Director will also work closely with the Division of Advancement’s Corporate & Foundation Relations professionals to receive leads and assist with visits to College of Engineering by corporate and industry partners.
- The Director shall also represent the UNT College of Engineering whenever appropriate at chamber of commerce meetings, industry conferences, and open house events.
- The Director shall be the de facto “concierge” for the UNT College of Engineering handling external and internal queries, and shall facilitate introductions, access, tours and any other appropriate services requested by corporate and industry partners.
Work Schedule:
8:00am to 5:00pm weekdays. Occasional after hours or weekend work.
