Department Summary
The College of Public Affairs and Health Sciences (PAHS) at the University of North Texas prepares graduates to address complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, exercise physiology and urban design.
We have eight academic departments with undergraduate and graduate programs, the Kristin Farmer Autism Center, the Center for Public Management, the UNT Speech and Hearing Center, the UNT Work Inclusion and Supported Employment (UNTWISE) program, UNT ELEVAR, and several professional development and clinical training programs to facilitate careers to address a global society.
Located within PAHS, the Department of Social Work houses both MSW and BSW degree programs. We develop generalist social work practitioners to optimize quality-of-life outcomes in communities worldwide by helping all people overcome the challenges associated with abuse, poverty, homelessness, addiction, disability and illness. Graduates practice in a variety of areas including integrated healthcare settings, hospice, substance abuse treatment, mental health, child welfare, aging, criminal justice, veterans, military and first responders, policy advocacy, and more.
Position Overview
The Social Work Program Project Coordinator ensures successful practicum experiences for our students and provides regular and ongoing support during the full-time field internship semester. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: assisting the Field Director in tasks related to the internship of students; development and maintenance of practicum placements for BSW and MSW students; processing applications, and meeting and monitoring students to review their needs; completing preparation for mandatory field orientation, training for new field instructors and conducting field visits; teaching Field Seminar courses, grading as applicable and managing case presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Masters Degree in Social Work. Experience in social work education (2 years .) Social work field experience (confirming/monitoring placements, field visits, assessing student progress). Coordination of field assessments (panel presentations).

Job Duties
- Field Orientation for Students (Assist field director in preparation for mandatory student field orientation) and Field Instructor Training/Orientation (Assist with training of agency field instructors as required by accreditation to facilitate approved practicum sites)
- Field Placements (Meet individually with students to review student learning needs, contact field agencies and connect students to field practicum sites, complete agency field visit sites to review student mid-term progress as required by accreditation)
- Manage and Implement Placement Tracking Software (Track student mid-term and final evaluations of students while in field seminar and compile student learning outcome assessments for accreditation reporting requirements)
- Grading and course support for field seminar courses - (assess weekly logs and discussion boards, review and provide feedback on student learning contracts)
- Case Presentations - (coordinate capstone case presentation/integrative assignment and facilitate panel evaluators, serve as panel evaluator and compile grading rubrics for assessments)
