Position Overview
The Senior Academic Advisor is responsible for functioning as a team lead for the G. Brint Ryan College of Business for advising students and degree/program requirements. Responsible for implementing advising initiatives and protocols for targeted populations; performing quality checks and reviewing work of advisors; coordinating retention programs that focus on student academic success, managing and analyzing student academic information data and preparing reports; and making presentations to internal and external groups.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and four years of experience in student affairs, student services, counseling, or professional academic advising.

- Strong presentation, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Advanced academic advising expertise.
- Ability to integrate and analyze information and develop reports.
- Ability to use a variety of complex computer applications. Ability to effectively manage projects and work teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing with internal and external groups in a variety of settings.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).

Job Duties:
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of RCOB advising policies and procedures to ensure that they that promote student academic success and ensure outstanding advising experience for RCOB students.
- Manage a team of academic advisors by setting individual and team performance goals, providing procedural guidance and training to team members, managing team performance, ensuring effective team communication and providing effective performance feedback to team members.
- Serve as a lead for assigned advising areas or processes by leading continual process improvement efforts, providing procedural guidance and training to others.
- Advise students individually and in group settings regarding degree requirements and University and College Policies.
- Leverage data and information technology to help drive student enrollment, academic success, retention and degree attainment.
- Work with student information systems to prepare and update degree audits, evaluate and apply transfer work in accordance with University and College policies, prepare and process degree plans and graduation applications.
- Make presentations to students, faculty and other stakeholders about RCOB degrees and educational opportunities and UNT and RCOB advising policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the overall organizational health and performance of the RCOB undergraduate programs through teamwork, knowledge sharing, professional development, and professional relationship building.
- Demonstrate commitment and ability to support a diverse group of individuals within the academic community.

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm may include some evenings and weekends.
