UNT Health is the clinical practice group of UNT Health Fort Worth, offering primary and multispecialty care dedicated to building healthier communities. Our services span the Fort Worth campus, Denton, and Dallas, and include mobile, in-home, hospital, and long-term care.

Position Overview
This position is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of clinical staff credentialing, including both initial credentialing for new hires and recredentialing for existing providers.
Key responsibilities include collecting, verifying, and maintaining essential provider documents such as licenses, certifications, insurance coverage, and professional references. The Sr. Credentialing Coordinator ensures that all credentialing files meet strict standards set by regulatory bodies (e.g., NCQA, CMS) and organizational policies. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of compliance requirements to ensure clinical staff are ready to practice without delay and that the practice clinicians remain in good standing.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of primary source verification processes, including utilizing tools like the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), state licensing boards, and education verification services.
- The ability to read, interpret, and effectively apply complex policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to the credentialing workflow.
- High proficiency in data entry and managing large volumes of detailed information with a focus on meticulous accuracy and integrity.
- Superior ability to organize, prioritize, and track multiple complex provider files simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with provider credentialing processes, Payer enrollment processes and procedures.
- Medicred Software Experience preferred.
Job Duties
- Will perform data collection, and all Primary Source Verification for initial credentialing and recredentialing of UNT Health Clinicians.
- Communicate with providers and department liaisons to complete the credentials verification within providers start dates and meet deadlines.
- Maintain credentialing databases by ensuring data is entered accurately and in timely manner. Utilizes credentialing resources and other software as required to maintain expiration dates of provider licenses, board certs, certifications, etc.
- May perform Managed Care enrollment with payer plans. Ensures that provider enrollment applications are processed in a timely manner.
- May prepare and present clinician files for the UNT Health Credentialing Committee, and other support activities of the Credentialing Committee.
