Department Summary
The Office of Sponsored Programs, a department under the Division of Research and Innovation at UNT Health, provides pre-award, post-award, and contract services to support faculty and other investigators while promoting compliance with federal and state agencies, private sponsor agreements, and UNT Health research policies.
Position Overview
The The Office of Sponsored Programs is seeking to hire a Senior Post Award Analyst to join our team.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- This individual must be able to engage and influence faculty, maintain a broad network of internal working relationships, and have up to date knowledge of applicable law and federal, state, institutional, and sponsor guidelines, including but not limited to FARS, DFARS, 2 CFR 200, and UGMS.
- Demonstrates respect and understanding for established guidelines and protocols, while seeking clarification when instructions are unclear to prevent created challenges for colleagues.
- Ensures smooth transition of important information from one person or department to another.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualification: Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or working towards certification
Job Duties
- Initiate ProjID award setup in EIS System/PeopleSoft upon receipt of Notice of Grant Awards.
- Work with Principal Investigators and Department Administrators on Project Initiation Meetings (PIM), reconciling budgets for awards, reviewing and approving requests for rebudgets, progress report submissions and no cost extension requests.
- Review and approve expenditures, including but not limited to ePro requisitions for purchases, Pcard transactions, travel reimbursements, and approve ePARs for payroll allocation requests on sponsored research projects.
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries regarding award management to include budget concerns, account status, carry forward requests, and subsequent years of funding.
- Liaison between the Sponsor and PI/Department Research Administrator for items requiring prior sponsor approval via email, phone calls or sponsor electronic websites for requests submissions.
- Provide training as needed to PIs/Department Research Administrators.
