Position Overview
The Senior Program Project Coordinator works with AVP of Equal Opportunity & Title IX to implement and monitor the University's initiatives regarding EEO, Affirmative Action (for qualified persons with disabilities and covered veterans), and Title IX prevention education. Collaborates with student groups and across divisions to ensure compliance by all University divisions with applicable federal and state laws/regulations/guidelines, University policies regarding EO and TIX, and best practices. Provides training to students, faculty, and staff. Obtains external funding sources. Develops and implements strategies to positively impact student and employee experiences with respect to EO/TIX-related matters.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education, Psychology, Business, Data Science and four years' of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of EEO, TIX, and Affirmative Action policies.
- Ability to create/adapt programs, project manage, and incorporate creativity and originality.
Job Duties:
- Conduct trainings for students, faculty, and staff that are required by state or federal law, grantors, collegiate associations, etc. (e.g. NCAA sexual assault prevention trainings for all North Texas Athletics student athletes and coaches, New Employee Orientation, Study Abroad, and more as needed).
- Establish partnerships with community organizations to increase resources for office initiatives (e.g. obtain external funding for campus lactation spaces; secure funding for assistance to students, faculty, and staff experiencing the effects of intimate partner violence, etc...). Research grant opportunities and develop proposals for additional resources. Collaborate with Advancement Division for donor opportunities/engagement. Focus on projects that positively impact student retention, success, and wellbeing.
- Provide ongoing assessment of Intimate Partner violence (IPV) prevention education activities on campus. Create, implement, and oversee targeted IPV prevention education for students, faculty, and staff in support of student/employee retention and engagement. Collaborate with faculty and staff partners across the University (e.g. Office for Disability Access, Dean of Students office, Student Survivor Advocate, Counseling & Testing) to support holistic student learning, success, completion, and wellness with respect to EO/TIX-related issues.
- Continue strategic development and implementation of UNT's Affirmative Action Plan. Per federal regulations, the University must take affirmative action to recruit and advance qualified persons with disabilities and covered veterans. This position would assist all of the university's colleges and divisions with their efforts to comply with this federal requirement. Create and maintain relationships with potential external partners. Assist in training the necessary University personnel on AAP best practices and current AAP data. Create and maintain a consolidated document system for rapid federal/state audit response.
