Position Overview
The UNT Athletic Department seeks a motivated coach to assist with coaching Pole Vault student-athletes. Reports to the Director of Track & Field and Cross-Country Coach. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, setting up and implementing practices, day to day operational duties, recruiting, driving to and from meets, meet travel as needed. Job is part time and only needed 1-2 days per week outside of season.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge of pole vault training and skills
· A willingness to work with a diverse group of student athletes and a wide range of abilities within the men’s and women’s team
Preferred Qualifications
· A background in high school or collegiate Track & Field
· Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level
Required License/Registration/Certifications
· A valid driver’s license
Job Duties:
- Assist with the facilitation of practice, including scheduling practice times, timing workouts, and compiling training data. Provide assistance with day-to-day operations.
- Attend team competitions and assist coaching staff in all competition related activities, including athlete transportation.
- Contribute to all on-campus recruiting efforts of both scholarship and non-scholarship athletes, including email, phone, and mail correspondence as permitted by NCAA rules.
- Assist as assigned with projects as directed by the Director of XC/Track & Field.
- Assist with home meet management.
- Help foster an environment of academic excellence.
- Must comply with all NCAA, American Athletic Conference, and University of North Texas rules and regulations.
