Department Summary

The Educator Preparation Program at UNT is committed to preparing future teachers in progressively field-based learning environments. Teacher candidate preparation culminates with the supervised clinical teaching semester in EC-12 classrooms in area public schools.

The College of Education Clinical Practice Office supports this goal through partnerships with
district and school teachers and administrators to provide field-based preparation opportunities for both undergraduate and post baccalaureate students seeking initial teacher certification.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Position Overview

The College of Education Educator Preparation Office seeks qualified individuals for the position of Adjunct Assistant-Clinical Field Supervisor for the 2026-2027 academic year.

This is a part-time position. Work schedule and compensation vary based on assignment.

The Clinical Field Supervisor observes, coaches, and evaluates teacher candidates a minimum of 7 times during their clinical (student) teaching semester. These observations are typically on-site within a 50-mile radius of UNT-Denton campus. The Field Supervisor provides mentoring to developing the dispositions, knowledge and skills required of a novice teacher, oversees the timely completion and collection of Texas Education Agency and program-required documentation, conducts regular meetings with candidates and field-based district personnel as required, and works collaboratively as the liaison across partner school districts, cooperating teachers, campus leadership, and the COE Clinical Experiences Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Texas Educator Certificate in a relevant teaching field.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supervising teacher candidates in the state
of Texas.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Financial Aid Administrator

This position is responsible for managing a financial aid student caseload, processing of aid adjustments, assisting with officewide quality controls, and counseling students regarding financial aid to include eligibility requirements, available financial aid options, and the requirements for the renewal and retention of aid programs. Position serves as main point of contact for internal inquiries regarding a students financial aid status and for ensuring that student inquiries have been resolved. Serves as backup to the customer service team. This position must possess a deep understanding of federal, state, and institutional financial aid and scholarship policies in order to effectively counsel students and assist with the accurate and timely processing of their financial aid.

Adjunct Faculty – Child Development and Family Studies - Spring 2027

The College seeks adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Child Development and Family Studies. Instructors prepare students to support children and families across early childhood education, human services, and community settings. Candidates with practitioner experience and a commitment to all individuals, first-generation, and working-adult students are especially welcome. Qualified individuals are being sought to establish a pool of readily available talented people from which these vacancies are filled as they occur.
