Department Summary
The Honors College helps approximately 2,000 undergraduate students get the most out of their UNT experience by providing in-class and extracurricular activities that are broader, deeper, or more complex than the norm. Honors College members may take Honors courses, engage in undergraduate research, participate in Honors College programming, live in Honors College housing, and enjoy other membership benefits. The goal of the Honors College is to help these students build an excellent foundation that prepares them for studying at the graduate level and establishing a fulfilling career.
Position Overview
The Honors College seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2024,Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 semesters. The Honors College seeks qualified individuals to teach HNRS 1000: First Year Seminar and the Honors College seeks qualified individuals to teach HNRS 1100: The Good Society.
Minimum Qualifications
For HNRS 1000: First seminar - Masters degree or the completion of 18 hours of graduate level coursework as part of a masters degree program. Previous experience working with Honors College students. Previous experience in higher education including student life, admissions, or academics.
For HNRS 1100: The Good Society - Masters or Doctoral degree in a discipline located in the humanities, social/behavioral sciences, or a closely related field. A strong record of effectively teaching undergraduate courses.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication and organizational skills.
For HNRS 1100: The Good Society - Terminal degree in humanities, social/behavioral sciences, or a closely related field.
