Department Summary

The School of Human Services at UNT Dallas offers two undergraduate degree programs. The Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management, and Leadership (HSML) and a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies (CDFS) prepares students for work in the social service sector. We offer both professional and academic certificates.

Position Overview

UNT Dallas is bridging the gap between education and workforce readiness through our innovative Classroom to Career initiative. Qualified individuals are being sought to establish a pool of readily available talented people from which these vacancies are filled as they occur. The adjunct instructor is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about teaching and student success.

UNT Dallas is hiring for the following positions to begin, Spring 2027 semester:
Human Services Management and Leadership
Gerontology
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Substance Abuse Treatment

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching area including Social Work, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Nonprofit Management, Mediation, Counseling Education, Public Administration, or related educational programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in online/hybrid instruction.
  • Proven teaching excellence in undergraduate instruction.
  • Knowledge of human services management principles, practices, and ethical standards.
  • Understanding of leadership theories and their application in human services settings.
  • Familiarity with all populations and responsive teaching methods.
  • Knowledge of current trends and issues in the human services field.
  • Understanding of CSHSE (Council on Standards for Human Services Education) standards.
  • Strong instructional design and course development skills.
  • Effective use of learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
  • Ability to facilitate engaging online, hybrid, and face-to-face instruction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor all student populations.
  • Proficient use of educational technology and digital learning tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD. In Social Work, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Nonprofit Management, or related educational program.
  • Terminal degree in the specific discipline or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Significant pedagogical knowledge and understanding in course development desirable.
  • Academic experience working on a campus with culturally all students, staff, and faculty.
  • Knowledge of Counsel on Standards for Human Services Education (CSHSE).
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

State certification or licensing in the subject matter where required.

The position conducts observations, leads required meetings and trainings, supports candidate development, and serves as a liaison between the university and school districts.

Registrar Coordinator
This position supports the Academic Advising Support area in the Registrar’s Office and is responsible for facilitating processes efficiently for the maintenance and coordination of the degree audit system. Work is performed within various student platforms and information systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of academic data. This role requires maintaining various tracking documents that keep the area moving forward, prepping program proposals for team members, assisting in maintaining the accuracy of student records, and coordinating posting documents to the UNT website, as well as coordinating advisor trainings and the team calendar. This position requires a detail driven critical thinker, is technically proficient in diverse software platforms and understands interdependencies. Registrar Coordinators assist with the coordination of daily operations. The services and processing in this area directly affects enrollment and retention.

Librarian
The Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a part-time, hourly librarian to support Lewis Library’s Education, Research, and Engagement efforts.

Parking & Transport Services Manager
This position is responsible for operations management and planning for Parking and Transportation Services, The incumbent in this position will provide leadership and direction for the universitys oncampus parking and transportation operations, manage resources, staff, and budget of the department.
