Department Summary

The School of Human Services at UNT Dallas offers two undergraduate degree programs. The Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management, and Leadership (HSML) and a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies (CDFS) prepares students for work in the social service sector. We offer both professional and academic certificates.

Position Overview

UNT Dallas is bridging the gap between education and workforce readiness through our innovative Classroom to Career initiative. This initiative integrates experiential learning—such as internships, service learning, and project-based collaborations with industry partners—into every student’s academic journey. By emphasizing high-impact practices, we prepare students with both disciplinary expertise and the essential skills employers value most: communication, adaptability, teamwork, and leadership. Our graduates don’t just earn degrees; they launch purposeful, career-ready futures. We seek faculty across all disciplines who are eager to contribute to this transformative, campus-wide initiative actively.

Qualified individuals are being sought to establish a pool of readily available talented people from which these vacancies are filled as they occur. The adjunct instructor is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about teaching and student success.

UNT Dallas is hiring for the following positions to begin, Summer 2027 semester:
Human Services Management and Leadership
Gerontology
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Substance Abuse Treatment

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching area including Social Work, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Nonprofit Management, Mediation, Counseling Education, Public Administration, or related educational programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in online/hybrid instruction.
  • Proven teaching excellence in undergraduate instruction.
  • Knowledge of human services management principles, practices, and ethical standards.
  • Understanding of leadership theories and their application in human services settings.
  • Familiarity with all populations and responsive teaching methods.
  • Knowledge of current trends and issues in the human services field.
  • Understanding of CSHSE (Council on Standards for Human Services Education) standards.
  • Strong instructional design and course development skills.
  • Effective use of learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
  • Ability to facilitate engaging online, hybrid, and face-to-face instruction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor all student populations.
  • Proficient use of educational technology and digital learning tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD. In Social Work, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Nonprofit Management, or related educational program.
  • Terminal degree in the specific discipline or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Significant pedagogical knowledge and understanding in course development desirable.
  • Academic experience working on a campus with culturally all students, staff, and faculty.
  • Knowledge of Counsel on Standards for Human Services Education (CSHSE).
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

State certification or licensing in the subject matter where required.

Administrative Specialist
The Computer Science Engineering Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to supporting enrollment of students through Override Enrollment requests, PERC reports, and generating permission codes for course enrollment, when necessary. This position serves as a backup for scheduling and Curriculog, and is trained to utilize Courseleaf (creating course schedules), Ad Astra (reserving rooms and scheduling), Curriculog (catalog and pre-requisite changes), and to create new sections of unorganized courses. This position also handles CPT (Curricular Practical Training) Program from the department's side, and is responsible for acting as the department's point of contact for the CPT program, processing CPT forms, and assisting with internship enrollment. This position also handles certificate evaluation and mailing by coordinating with faculty regarding special certificates and processing the awards until mailing them to the students.

Conduct forensic DNA analysis on evidence submitted to CHI to establish the identity and/or source of biological materials and provide legal testimony as the to the methods and results obtained in forensic casework.

Student Success Coordinator
The Student Success Coordinator supports the mission of the Office of Medical & Student Success through the development, implementation, and coordination of student success initiatives, leadership development programs, career development activities, and student engagement efforts. This position serves as the primary coordinator for the Advisory Colleges Program and Advisory Colleges Council (ACC), providing oversight and support for ACC student leaders while developing and implementing a longitudinal leadership curriculum designed to cultivate leadership, professionalism, service, and community engagement among medical students. The Student Success Coordinator collaborates with students, faculty advisors, academic leadership, and campus partners to enhance the medical student experience and promote student success through leadership development, event planning, career development programming, and co-curricular initiatives. This position also assists with academic advising initiatives, student outreach efforts, and other Office of Medical & Student Success programs and events.

Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities, Events, and Capital Projects
UNT Athletics is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader to serve as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities, Events, and Capital Projects. This is a senior leadership position within the athletics department, reporting directly to the Associate Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and serving as a member of the department's Senior Leadership Team. This individual will oversee all aspects of athletic facilities, game and event operations, and capital project planning and execution across Mean Green Athletics, serving as the department's primary strategic and operational leader for the physical spaces where UNT competes, trains, and welcomes fans, donors, and recruits.
