Department Summary

The College of Music is the largest public university music program in the United States and one of the most globally respected. We offer fully accredited degrees from the bachelor to doctoral levels and are home to the world’s first jazz studies degree program. Faculty include internationally acclaimed artists and scholars in composition, conducting, ethnomusicology, music education, music entrepreneurship, music history, music theory, and performance. Position Overview

The Department of Keyboard Studies seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at ay time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.

The anticipated need may include but is not limited to: Expertise in Sacred Music- MUSM. All instruction will take place on the UNT Denton campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in music or a closely related field and at least three years of professional experience. Prior college-level teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Terminal degree in music or closely related field.

Experience in teaching keyboard performance with reference to the standards of performance of the UNT Keyboard Studies program.

This position serves as a high level case management position for both Care Team and Student Conduct. As it specifically relates to student conduct, this position is responsible for the investigation and adjudication of student conduct cases, which includes high level decision making such as assigning suspensions and expulsions.
