Department Summary

The Department of Political Science at UNT is nationally recognized for its high quality of teaching. Our undergraduate program boasts hundreds of majors who are taught by an exceptionally engaging, award-winning faculty. These faculty specialize in various areas, such as judicial politics and political parties and elections.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSls and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Position Overview

The Department of Political Science seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach PSCI 2306 during the Fall 2026 semester. This introductory undergraduate course provides students with a foundation in the institutions of government, with particular emphasis on the U.S. and Texas Constitutions. The course will be taught in person at the UNT Denton campus

The instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering course instruction, evaluating student work, maintaining required academic records, communicating with students, holding appropriate office hours, and complying with departmental and university policies and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

A master’s degree in political science with outstanding teaching experience in teaching foundational-level Political Science courses, OR a master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Political Science; with outstanding teaching experience in teaching lower-level Political Science courses.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Political Science or Ph.D./MA. in Political Science, or equivalent, including 18 graduate hours in Political Science.
• Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
• Excellent communications skills.

ERP Programmer Analyst II

This position involves direct programming work in both development and maintenance projects and troubleshooting errors. Work is performed with independent judgment, in accordance with established University and System Information Technology department policies and procedures, under the general direction of the Student Administration Resource Managers and Technical Lead of the Student Records System Development Team.

Registrar Coordinator

This position supports the Academic Advising Support area in the Registrar’s Office and is responsible for facilitating processes efficiently for the maintenance and coordination of the degree audit system. Work is performed within various student platforms and information systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of academic data. This role requires maintaining various tracking documents that keep the area moving forward, prepping program proposals for team members, assisting in maintaining the accuracy of student records, and coordinating posting documents to the UNT website, as well as coordinating advisor trainings and the team calendar. This position requires a detail driven critical thinker, is technically proficient in diverse software platforms and understands interdependencies. Registrar Coordinators assist with the coordination of daily operations. The services and processing in this area directly affects enrollment and retention.

System Administrator

Provides Tier 2 Service Desk support for CAS IT's supported units (COS, CLASS, and COI), working from a shared queue rather than a fixed college assignment. Alternates between phone/walk-in coverage and ticket resolution, with ticket resolution expected as the default when calls are not active. Provides in person support across main campus and Discovery Park as needed, including research labs, clinics, and departmental lab setups. Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and documenting unique department and lab requirements, and for handling sensitive information within CAS IT's scope. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and support a wide variety of applications and needs across the faculty base.
