Department Summary

The College of Music is the largest public university music program in the United States and one of the most globally respected. We offer fully accredited degrees from the bachelor to doctoral levels and are home to the world’s first jazz studies degree program. Faculty include internationally acclaimed artists and scholars in composition, conducting, ethnomusicology, music education, music entrepreneurship, music history, music theory, and performance. Position Overview

The Department of College of Music seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. This position impacts the entire undergraduate population and is not affiliated with a specific department. The College of Music enrolls approximately 1,500 music majors, with two-thirds being undergraduate students.

The position will involve teaching MUGC 4890, Studies in Music, which is a new course designed for Pre-Music students. Pre-Music students have not been admitted as a music major. The expectation is to provide the students in this course information about becoming a music major and options for alternative majors at UNT.

Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree in Music or a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours directly related to the assigned courses(s).

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate preferred; experience teaching at the college level; an understanding of working with FTIC students who are exploring potential majors.

Dr. Anastasia Sacharidou's Vascular Biology Laboratory, seeks a long- term staff Research Scientist to serve as a key partner in the daily operation of a growing research lab. The scientist will coordinate experimental work, conduct mouse and cell-based studies, maintain continuity across projects, troubleshoot routine problems, and guide student researchers. The UNT Chemistry Department invites applications for a full-time Research Scientist III position in High-Performance Computing. The role of the position is to manage the department’s High-Performance Computing facility, maintain its computer servers and infrastructure, and train and support users.

Senior Director, Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement

The Senior Director of Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement provides administrative leadership for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNT. The senior director sets goals annually in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President of Donor Engagement and Advancement Services. The Senior Director oversees OLLI operations, curriculum, registration, revenue, and expenses, as well as managing the volunteer leadership of both groups. The Senior Director is in charge of recruiting faculty and community professionals to provide academic content, serving as the representative of OLLI at UNT, managing fundraising activities to remain self-supporting, and increasing OLLI membership. The Senior Director is also responsible for all reporting related to fundraising activities, including the annual OSHER report.
