Department Summary

The Department of Studio Art offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts, BFA degree, which offers students an intensive exploration across a breadth of seven media concentrations and within a depth of discipline that allows students to prepare to be an artist, begin career in the arts, or to continue their studies in graduate school.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. we welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, and/or Yoruba.

Position Overview

The Department of Studio Art seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This positing is for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027. The specific courses vary from semester to semester, and openings to teach these courses develop periodically, depending in department teaching needs.

The anticipated need for Adjunct Instructors whose duties may include but are not limited to teaching ASTU courses in Figure Drawing, Ceramics, Drawing & Painting, Metalsmithing & Jewelry, New Media Art, Photography, Printmaking, Rotating Topics, and Sculpture. Classes meet Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu in 3-hour sessions: 8am-10:50am, 11:10am-2pm, 2:20pm-5:10pm, and evenings.

Minimum Qualifications

Terminal Degree or equivalent experience in the field of visual arts, studio arts, or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching gin higher education or equivalent. Demonstrated exhibition record or equivalent.

The UNT Dining Associate at Mean Greens plays an essential role in supporting safe, efficient, and consistent dining operations within UNT Dining Services. This position assists with daily kitchen production, meal service, sanitation, and general dining area operations to help ensure quality service for students, faculty, staff, and guests. The Dining Associate works collaboratively with cooks, production staff, supervisors, and other dining team members to support timely meal preparation and service while following established food safety, sanitation, and operational standards. This role may provide support across various service areas as needed, helping maintain adequate staffing and smooth operations during meal periods. The Dining Associate contributes to a welcoming and positive dining environment by maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked work and service areas, assisting with food preparation and service, and responding to operational needs in a professional and timely manner. The position is an important part of the Mean Greens team and helps provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable dining experience for the UNT community.

IT Support Specialist I

The IT Support Specialist I role works in support of the UNT System IT Service Desk and provides in-person support to all UNT System staff as well as providing tier 2 and 3 support for both hourly service desk team and campus support teams. This role will also have the responsibility for supporting System IT Service Desk hourly staff in standard operating procedures as well as creating and documenting new procedures. They will also provide software deployment using tools such as Microsoft Intune and JAMF. The IT Support Specialist I role includes coordination of operational efforts with the Cybersecurity and IT Compliance (CITC) team including desktop and application security.
