Department Summary
The Department of Studio Art offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts, BFA degree, which offers students an intensive exploration across a breadth of seven media concentrations and within a depth of discipline that allows students to prepare to be an artist, begin career in the arts, or to continue their studies in graduate school.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. we welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, and/or Yoruba.
Position Overview
The Department of Studio Art seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This positing is for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027. The specific courses vary from semester to semester, and openings to teach these courses develop periodically, depending in department teaching needs.
The anticipated need for Adjunct Instructors whose duties may include but are not limited to teaching ASTU courses in Figure Drawing, Ceramics, Drawing & Painting, Metalsmithing & Jewelry, New Media Art, Photography, Printmaking, Rotating Topics, and Sculpture. Classes meet Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu in 3-hour sessions: 8am-10:50am, 11:10am-2pm, 2:20pm-5:10pm, and evenings.
Minimum Qualifications
Terminal Degree or equivalent experience in the field of visual arts, studio arts, or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching gin higher education or equivalent. Demonstrated exhibition record or equivalent.
