Department Summary

The Department of Mathematics has 23 tenure system faculty, 20 professional faculty, 50-60 graduate students, and about 150 majors. Our graduate degree offerings include a Ph.D. in Mathematics and M.S. degrees, as well as Math Education options. Undergraduate offerings include B.A. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics, with or without teacher certification. Additional information about the department is available at math.unt.edu.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Position Overview

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for the position of Chair, with an anticipated starting date of August 1, 2027. As chief academic and administrative officer of the unit the Chair provides leadership for all faculty and staff and holds responsibility for all undergraduate and graduate programs in Mathematics. Candidates should have an outstanding record in scholarship and teaching, and an accomplished record of effective leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, an academic record allowing appointment as a Full Professor with tenure, and an established research program.

Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants having a record of external funding, administrative experience, a distinguished record of teaching, and demonstrated ability to work with faculty and administrators across the university.

Assistant Professor - Clinical Nutrition

The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being, College of Health Professions, is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian for a full-time, 12-month faculty position to teach in the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition Coordinated Program (MSCN). The MSCN program prepares students to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. This position may be hybrid, combining remote and in-person responsibilities at the UNT Health Fort Worth campus. The faculty member will engage in innovative teaching, student mentorship, course and curriculum development, and continuous quality improvement. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, contributing to the ACEND accreditation process, collaborating on research, and participating in service across the department, college, and university.

Custodial Services Assistant Supervisor - Night Shift

This position is responsible for oversight of a midsized team of employees, engaged in university facility services, performed in multiple locations. Responsible for inventory, equipment, scheduling, training, and daily operations. Oversees, and assists, with the supervision of daily operations of custodial personnel as assigned, and during the absence of the supervisor or manager. Inspects University buildings for cleanliness, safety, and security. Work is performed in accordance with established policies, industry standards and procedures, and specific work assignments. Assists with scheduling for cleaning and for the opening and closing of assigned buildings as needed; monitors inventory and assures that adequate equipment and supplies are on hand. Travels between work sites by use of University vehicle for necessary calls. Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery and a Responsible Employee under Title IX.
