Department Summary

The Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) Office is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals by providing effective and meaningful financial aid assistance. FAS is responsible for processing financial aid applications, administrating various financial aid programs, and providing financial aid counseling to students and their families.

Position Overview

This position will assist with the administration of various scholarship programs to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant awarding of aid. This employee will serve as a primary contact for campus partners regarding UNT scholarship administration. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, work well within a team as well as independently, and be able to manage multiple projects at once.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's in related field, three years in student services or related roles. Equivalent education, training, experience accepted. Must maintain good standing on federal student loans, grant NSLDS access for hire & continued employment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- In-depth knowledge of financial aid processes, policies, and procedures or ability to quickly assimilate.
- Ability to problem solve, multitask, and organize in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

As a condition of hire and continued employment, must be in good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for the office to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to verify such standing.

Job Duties

  • Process scholarship awards to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations. 
  • Provide customer service and guidance to students, families, and campus partners regarding scholarship opportunities, eligibility, and related processes. Serve as pointofcontact for indepth scholarship questions. -
  • Responsible for reviewing and completing quality controls related to scholarship and financial aid administration.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of federal, state, NCAA, and institutional rules and regulations regarding the administration of scholarships and financial aid. Monitor federal, state, NCAA, and institutional aid administration updates for impact to processing and/or customer service provided. Provide feedback and recommendations to supervisor regarding scholarship and related policies and procedures to help develop and maintain best business practices. 
  • Assist in documentation of scholarship policy and procedures to include stepbystep training guides. Provide training related to scholarship processes for coworkers and colleagues. 
  • Participate in outreach initiatives that promote awareness of scholarships and other forms of financial assistance. Assist with creation of presentations. Conduct presentations as assigned. 
  • Assist with officewide tasks such as aid adjustments and customer service inquiries during peaktimes.

Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor

The Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor is the faculty member responsible for the development, delivery, and assessment of curriculum content within TCOM’s integrated, medical curriculum. This position contributes to year 1 and year 2 OMM medical education, physical exam and clinical reasoning courses through teaching, curriculum design, assessment, and service in collaboration with course directors, curriculum directors, teaching faculty, and staff. This position also serves in the simulation lab. The expected time commitment is approximately .75 FTE inclusive of teaching and content development. This is a paid hourly position.

The position is responsible for ensuring fire and life safety compliance across university construction projects and facilities. The role conducts and oversees plan reviews for new construction, renovations, alterations, demolitions, and other projects to ensure compliance with applicable fire and building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
