Department Summary

The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for Adjunct Instructor openings for the academic year 2025-26. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching. Position Overview

Adjunct faculty plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in introductory Music Appreciation courses with a focus on American Music from the late-19th century to the present.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master of Fine Arts degree, or a degree from a related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong teaching skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience in college instruction.
  • Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
  • Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
  • Familiarity with online modes of delivery.

Physical Requirements

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing.
  • Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
