Department Summary
The Department of Family and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is a multifaceted, interdisciplinary team of dedicated healthcare providers and researchers who are committed to providing excellence in clinical care, primary care education, and research. Through innovative curricular designs, early clinical experiences, and mentorship, the Department is focused on producing highly competent, caring, and compassionate Family Medicine/OMM physicians, helping reduce the shortage of primary care physicians in our Texas communities.
Position Overview
The incumbent will be employed to design and carry out advanced independent and/or directed research to achieve the objectives of ongoing, federally-funded research projects, as well as others. They will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with other lab members. At the time of employment, the principal investigator will establish the professional objectives and performance standards for the incumbent and will make annual evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree. If not yet conferred, a letter from the school's official Graduate Office and/or Registrar's Office certifying that all requirements have been met and stating the degree conferral date can be accepted. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Job Duties
- Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills to analyze the collected data.
- Design and conduct experiments. Test, optimize, and implement new and existing methods and techniques.
- Manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. May also assist in grant writing.
- Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.
