Department Summary

The Division of Enrollment Management within the University of North Texas Health Science Center encompasses Admissions & Recruitment, Financial Aid and Student Records & Enrollment. This team assists students from the beginning of their academic journey through their degree completion at UNT Health.

Position Overview

The Department of Admissions and Recruitment at UNT Health is seeking a Recruitment/Admissions Associate to join our team. This position supports the Recruitment Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing recruitment initiatives and assists with the overall operations of the recruitment team. The Recruitment/Admissions Associate provides exceptional customer service to prospective applicants and current students, responds promptly to inquiries and requests, and assists students throughout the admissions and application process through email, telephone, mail, and in-person interactions. The position develops and maintains relationships with advisors at various higher education institutions and represents UNT Health at college fairs, recruitment events, and other outreach activities throughout the DFW area, across Texas, and at out-of-state institutions.

Travel is a significant component of this position. The Recruitment/Admissions Associate will regularly travel throughout the DFW area, across the State of Texas, and to out-of-state institutions to represent UNT Health at college fairs, recruitment events, campus visits, and other outreach opportunities. The position is responsible for coordinating travel arrangements and logistics associated with recruitment activities, including utilizing a department travel card to arrange and manage rental vehicles, hotel accommodations, and flights. This includes planning travel itineraries, coordinating transportation and lodging, maintaining accurate travel documentation and receipts, and ensuring travel arrangements align with department guidelines and recruitment schedules.

The Recruitment/Admissions Associate also assists the Director with recruitment procedures, general administration, database management, reporting, and maintaining accurate computerized records of prospective students and institutional contacts. The position coordinates and conducts tours for prospective applicants, ensures recruitment materials and brochures are readily available and distributed as requested, and follows up with prospective applicants and current students in a timely and professional manner. The position also helps coordinate recruitment events, supports recruitment marketing efforts, and leads outreach and recruitment initiatives with top feeder schools and other key higher education partners. Additionally, the Recruitment/Admissions Associate participates as a member of the Ambassador Task Force and assists with developing and strengthening partnerships that support the university's enrollment and recruitment goals. The Recruitment/Admissions Associate is expected to contribute to a positive and welcoming recruitment experience while supporting the department’s goals and initiatives. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year related experience, events management experience, or higher education experience.
  • Previous experience in higher education, transfer student admission.
  • Previous experience reviewing admission applications.
  • Previous territory management experience, experience in the greater DFW metro area.
  • Previous experience with early assurance programs.
  • Excellent detail oriented individual.
  • Excellent multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent scheduling and event coordinating abilities.
  • Excellent technology skills.
  • Demonstrate Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Job Duties

  • Develops relationships with Advisors at various Higher Education institutions.
  • Responsible for assisting the Recruitment Director, Admissions Assistant Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing all phases of recruitment.
  • Maintains computerized records of prospects, and contact persons and produces timely reports using the information in the data base.
  • Assists the Director in several duties related to recruitment procedures, maintaining the database of all the information related to the admissions, general administration and relevant management, reporting, etc.
  • Ensures that brochures are readily available on request and sent out to prospective students upon request.
  • Assists in the overall operations of the recruitment team.

Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor

The Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor is the faculty member responsible for the development, delivery, and assessment of curriculum content within TCOM’s integrated, medical curriculum. This position contributes to year 1 and year 2 OMM medical education, physical exam and clinical reasoning courses through teaching, curriculum design, assessment, and service in collaboration with course directors, curriculum directors, teaching faculty, and staff.
