The Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the UNT System College of Pharmacy is located at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. Position Overview
The position will be for assisting a postdoctoral research associate in the lab on research experiments for a specific NIH-funded project. The recruited personnel will need to have good level of understanding of the concepts behind the research project as well as basic laboratory skills. This would best be satisfied for a person who has completed their thesis-based Master's degree, with relevant research skills. The aim is to also provide the personnel with the opportunity to continue as a PhD student in the department's new PhD program. This personnel is needed to successfully execute the aims laid out in the project proposal.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong project organization and management skills.
- Advanced training in quantitative research methods, and knowledge of targeted drug delivery.
- Ability to manage complex, high-risk research projects effectively, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
- Experience in polymer synthesis, nanoparticle fabrication, material and particle characterization, flow cytometry, LC–MS, confocal microscopy, and animal handling and/or surgery.
Job Duties
- Perform technical procedures involved in execution of experiments (i.e. material synthesis, characterization, animal care / handling.)
- Execute experiments independently, collect data and keep records of experiments, and keep up-to-date with the most recent literature in the field of study.
- Keep track of inventories of research materials.
- Write manuscripts and prepare materials for scientific presentations.

- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
