Department Summary

The Institute for Translational Research is devoted to bringing novel diagnostics and interventions to patients and families suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, fostering translational research in neurodegenerative diseases at UNTHSC, and Create solutions for a healthier community. Our team spans basic "bench-top" science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease.

Position Overview

This position will participate in the administration and monitoring of clinical research studies and/or clinical trials. It will analyze and evaluate clinical data gathered during research.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of scientific research techniques, methods and procedures.Ability to work effectively with fellow researchers, staff members, faculty, supervisors and students.Academic writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

Data and IT Experience Data Entry
Bilingual preferred

Job Duties:

  • Conduct face to face and/or telephone interviews with participants, in accordance with predetermined interview protocol, data collection procedures and documentation standards 
  • Participate in community recruitment of research participants and screening into studies and projects 
  • Conduct neuropsychological testing with participants in studies and projects 
  • Scoring of interview, completing and conducting research protocols and statistical analysis 
  • Coordinating data entry, merging files, completing quality control checks, QC files and data collected. 
  • Administering functional research exams for participants in studies and projects
  • Administrative tasks such as copying, preparing research materials, filing as needed 
  • Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary and any other duties as needed
