Department Summary

The Institute for Translational Research is devoted to bringing novel diagnostics and interventions to patients and families suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, fostering translational research in neurodegenerative diseases at UNTHSC, and Create solutions for a healthier community. Our team spans basic "bench-top" science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease.

Position Overview

Position created to support the ITR studies, staff and ITR participants. This position will assist with participants during the ITR studies as well as research administrative and scheduling duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and skills in using a range of software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SPSS, STATA. Ability to work independently. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks. Ability to communicate effectively; perform other administrative/clerical tasks. Aptitude in general laboratory procedures, techniques, and documentation. Willingness to acquire competence in new techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred

Job Duties

Scheduler for each component of participant visits: Interview, Neuropsychological Testing, Blood draw, MRI, Medical Exam, Feedback Sessions.
Check participants into the electronic check-in system.
Contact for imaging center appointments (New/canceling/pending appointments).
Blood draw: create blood draw entry, complete Quest lab forms for returning participants, escort participants to Quest, deliver blood samples to lab.
Medical Exams: interpret English to Spanish for Nurse Practitioner when needed.

Physical Requirements

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Communicating with others to exchange information.

Environmental Hazards

No adverse environmental conditions expected.

The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being, College of Health Professions, is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian for a full-time, 12-month faculty position to teach in the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition Coordinated Program (MSCN). The MSCN program prepares students to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. This position may be hybrid, combining remote and in-person responsibilities at the UNT Health Fort Worth campus. The faculty member will engage in innovative teaching, student mentorship, course and curriculum development, and continuous quality improvement. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, contributing to the ACEND accreditation process, collaborating on research, and participating in service across the department, college, and university.

Custodial Services Assistant Supervisor - Night Shift

This position is responsible for oversight of a midsized team of employees, engaged in university facility services, performed in multiple locations. Responsible for inventory, equipment, scheduling, training, and daily operations. Oversees, and assists, with the supervision of daily operations of custodial personnel as assigned, and during the absence of the supervisor or manager.
