Our team is responsible for assessing and collecting all tuition and fees, processing waivers, exemptions, veterans' educational benefits, third-party sponsorships, tuition benefit programs, refunds, departmental deposit and financial services, and tax reporting.
Position Overview
This position serves as a member of the Financial Resolutions team within Student Accounting and assists students with crafting solutions to ensure balances are resolved in a timely manner in order to facilitate continued enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in the higher education industry, or experience working with past due account/collections management processes in any industry. Experience in a student accounts or other financial services office.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers. Maintains positive interactions with others. Provides professional, clear and accurate verbal and written communication. Resolves customers issues, offers alternatives or submits them to the appropriate personnel following the chain of command. Alerts supervisor(s) of escalating issues.
- Promotes a positive work environment for all team members. Demonstrates respect, flexibility, open-mindedness, and kindness in all interactions with students, team members, and campus partners. Demonstrates a commitment to the mission and vision of Student Accounting, the Division of Enrollment, and the University of North Texas. - Must maintain a working knowledge of the EIS system, navigate the system, comprehend and explain student accounts, troubleshoot issues and understand processes which affect the student account. Must document appropriate comments in EIS when necessary.
- Completes assignments accurately and in a timely manner with minimal follow-up required. Demonstrates initiative by taking action to provide customer service within scope of position and actively seeks additional assignments from supervisor.
- Actively supports initiatives to engage all employees in the workplace. Provides timely communication to team members. Takes actions to demonstrate care for team members and to communicate their value as part of the team. Recognizes and promotes accomplishments of team members.
- Implement departmental financial resolutions and collections strategies using established practice for current students, former students, and third-party organizations (sponsors) in compliance with Texas Administrative Code (§59.2 Collections).
- Proactively communicate with students regarding past due balances and available resolution solutions. Provide communications that are detailed/specific to the student and their unique situation as part of internal/external collection efforts and in support of solutions that will allow the student’s success at UNT.
- Provide direct support to the financial resolutions caseload management, including promise-to-pay, disputes, investigations involving other offices, etc. that may involve collaboration with other student services and academic areas to ensure that student account information is updated effectively in PeopleSoft, Flywire Collections Management, USAS/TINS, external agency systems, and Salesforce.
- Provide back-up departmental support to the University ID Card process including local software and hardware administrative support to deliver efficient ID card services to students, staff, faculty and visitors.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, with overtime as needed.
