In 2021, UNT introduced Eagle Landing, the university’s first standalone dining hall, inspired by urban food halls and featuring seven distinct restaurant concepts—all available for a single Meal Plan swipe.

Position Overview
As the department’s lead graphic designer, this employee will spend most of their time on print and digital graphic design projects. They will also oversee our Social Media and lead part-time employee(s) who execute web-related assignments. This position is part of Dining Services in-house marketing team. We produce a variety of print and digital media in support of the university’s award-winning Dining program, including dining halls, retail venues, a casual upscale restaurant, central bakery, full service catering operation and meal plans.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in related field and one year work experience in print, video, and/or electronic media production, or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understanding of the principles, equipment, software, and practices of the field of media design and production. Must be highly competent in using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. Manual dexterity and physical ability to operate various items of media equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree and/or 2 years of related experience. Experience maintaining a Modern Campus website is preferred but not critical.

Job Duties
- As the lead graphic designer on the team, this position produces a variety of print and digital creative projects using industry standard tools.
Serves as the primary team member overseeing our social media presence. They are in charge of creating a social media calendar, creating designs for posts, monitoring responses, benchmarking our presence on social media, etc. They can delegate these tasks to parttime designers, but must give them creative direction and initial feedback on their work before submitting it for approval.
Serves as a professional role model and guide to student employees on their work projects.
Uses positive techniques to motivate employees. Sets and achieves high standards with the team. Properly delegates tasks and projects. Provides appropriate feedback to subordinates. Comes to work regularly, maintains assigned work schedule. Follows procedures requesting leave and reporting absences, and provides necessary documentation/releases to work if necessary.
Understands job procedures, policies and responsibilities; keeps up to date technically; acts as a resources person on whom others rely for assistance. Accepts accountability for actions.
Identifies problems and analyzes causes; takes or recommends actions after evaluating alternative solutions; follows up to ensure problems are corrected. Generates alternative solutions when solving problems.
Develops strategies and work plans for accomplishing goals; organizes tasks in a logical sequence and identifies resources required. Capable of managing several assignments at the same time. Seeks new tools, job training, and learning opportunities
Communicates and produces solutions using appropriate style, format, spelling and grammar. Writes in a clear, concise manner, and is clear when communicating ideas orally. Exhibits listening skills and ensures the message is understood. Is receptive to feedback and constructive criticism.
