Support and Services is part of a dynamic team within Facilities that plays a vital role in supporting the university’s operations and overall student success. We are responsible for the accurate and timely billing of campus utilities, including water, electricity, gas, and other essential services. In addition to Utilities Billing, our team includes Purchasing and Work Control. These interconnected areas collaborate to streamline internal processes, coordinate service requests, manage procurement, provide responsive support to our campus partners, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
We work closely with departments across campus to promote billing transparency, cost efficiency, and reliable service delivery. Position Overview
This position is responsible for functioning as a contact between Facilities and its customers, and for assisting other employees in managing work orders for the campus. This position operates the computerized Maintenance Management System (WebTMA) daily to receive and process service requests from UNT customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Assisting the Work Control department in answering phones, greeting a wide variety of visitors, and providing accurate information on various issues.
*Receives and processes service requests with detail; creates and routes work orders.
*Responds to calls for emergency services; dispatches appropriate staff by phone or contacts the correct agency for response.
*Collects labor charges and billing receipts and closes work orders upon completion.
*Exhibits thorough knowledge of departmental policies and procedures and answers routine questions from office staff or clients.
*This position is considered essential personnel and may require working during bad weather events or outside regular hours as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
*Able to deal with stress due to deadlines.
* Able to work in a loud work environment with multiple interruptions and distractions.
*Experience in a call center environment
*Strong focus on customer service
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
*Experience with CMMS system(s), particularly TMA; or ability to learn a new software.
*Basic to intermediate understanding of relational database concepts and the relationship between databases and applications, or the ability to rapidly assimilate.
*Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
*Possession of a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment; ability to drive a vehicle and maintain coverage under University liability insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles.
Job Duties:
- Maintains CMMS, receives and processes service requests with detail; assigns work center and issues account number, routes work orders.
- Responds to calls for emergency services; dispatches appropriate craft by radio or contacts correct agency for response.
- Collects labor charges and billing receipts upon completion of projects, closes completed work orders.
- Exhibits thorough knowledge of departmental policies and procedures and answers routine questions by office staff or clients.
- Provides customer service, answering misc. inquiries as needed and directing to the appropriate area in facilities and/or on campus.
- Consistently completes expected duties in a timely manner without constant supervision. Accepts responsibility for own work and follows through on commitments.
