Department Summary

The Division of Instrumental Studies offers Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts performance degrees with specialization in violin, viola, violoncello, double bass, harp, guitar, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, and multiple woodwinds. Current and former students have won prizes in major instrumental competitions of every genre, and are appointed to professional positions in orchestras, wind symphonies, and universities/conservatories spanning the world.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Position Overview

The candidate will teach applied euphonium lessons at the undergraduate and graduate level. The courses will all have prefixes of MUAM or MUAC 1518, 3518, 5518, and 6518.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in music or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise as an accomplished euphoniumist and professional experience as a performer and clinician.
