Position Overview
The Hospitality Tourism Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Coordinator to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Manage the administrative operations for the department of Hospitality and Tourism. Provide direct support to the Chair of the department, including recommending and implementing policies and procedures. Responsible for oversight of department budget, including reporting and forecasting, purchasing, travel, human resources, scheduling, course leaf, curriculog and property control functions. Analyzes and makes recommendations on office operation needs, including equipment, workflow, and materials. Supports the Chair, including correspondence, data compilation, preparation of reports, calendar maintenance, and related responsibilities. Duties and tasks frequently are nonroutine. Any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and three years' of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
- Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
- Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
- Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
- Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- Experience in administrative management of an academic department.
- Proficient in EXCEL, Word, and electronic file management.
- Experience in planning meetings/events. Experience in working with and managing student employees.
- Experience in compiling and analyzing electronic data and summary report writing.
- Experience in COGNOS, ePar, ePro, Purchasing, Travel, Scheduling.

Job Duties:
- Manage the administrative operations and acts as a resource to assist in the resolution of various administrative matters for the department of Hospitality and Tourism.
- Provide direct support to the Chair of the department, including recommending and implementing policies and procedures.
- Responsible for oversight of department budget, including reporting and forecasting, purchasing, travel, human resources, and property control functions.
- Analyzes and makes recommendations on office operation needs, including equipment, workflow, and materials.
- Supports the Chair, including correspondence, data compilation, preparation of reports, calendar maintenance, and related responsibilities.
- Assist with planning Department meetings and events including scheduling, planning the agenda, selecting menus, taking minutes and other duties as needed.

Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm
