Department Summary
The Department of Dance and Theatre is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, with approximately 400 theatre majors and minors in theatre and dance. The Department offers a BA degree in Theatre with concentrations in Acting, Dance, Design/Technology, and General Studies with Theatre Teacher Certification. The department also offers a Minor in Theatre as well as four specialized dance certificates. The vibrant undergraduate program delivers a rigorous dance and theatre education within a liberal arts context. The Department produces a full season of 5-6 productions as well as several laboratory events directed by faculty, guest artists, or students.
Position Overview
The University of North Texas Department of Dance and Theatre is seeking a qualified dance instructor to teach classes during the department's summer dance intensive, Momentum. The instructor will teach a variety of dance classes during the two-week intensive, including but not limited to contemporary technique, strengthening and conditioning, improvisation, and choreography/composition. Must be able to communicate effectively and adapt course content to varying levels of dance experience.
Minimum Qualifications
MA or MFA in Dance and 1-2 years of teaching experience in higher education.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to facilitate multiple dance classes in a variety of styles, in coordination with faculty. Ability to adapt class content and provide modifications for students with varying levels of dance experience.

Job Duties
- Facilitate and teach at least five dance classes, including, but not limited to, contemporary technique, strengthening and conditioning, improvisation, and choreography/composition.
- Adapt and modify class content as necessary to accommodate a variety of learning styles and dance experience

Work Schedule
Based on instructor availability and in coordination with intensive schedule. Momentum summer intensive runs June 22 through July 3, Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm.
