The Registrar’s Office support students by offering a variety of student services, i.e. registration, degree awarding/verification, commencement, official transcripts, and VA certifications.

Position Overview
The Data Analyst of Student Records supports the Registrar’s Office by reviewing, verifying, and updating student residency status in accordance with institutional and state policies. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of student records and ensuring accurate classification for tuition purposes. Under the direction of the Registrar, the analyst coordinates with campus partners and students to process documentation, analyze residency data, generate reports, and support communication efforts with students and university leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with student information systems, preferably PeopleSoft.
- Familiarity with Texas higher education tuition and fee billing regulations.
- Understanding of student residency laws and policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including proficiency in Excel, PeopleSoft queries, or business intelligence tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven setting.
- Ability to apply complex policies consistently.
- Collaborate effectively across departments in a professional, student-centered environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Texas Higher Education experience.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Residency Review & Processing: Evaluate and verify student residency status based on documentation submitted during admissions or continuing enrollment.
- Apply state residency statutes and institutional policies consistently and accurately.
- Ensure timely updates of residency statuses in PeopleSoft.
- Data Entry & System Maintenance: Input, track, and audit residency data in the student information system (PeopleSoft).
- Ensure data integrity and troubleshoot discrepancies or incomplete records.
- Support data clean-up projects related to residency or student classification.
- Collaboration & Support: Serve as a point of contact for questions from students and staff regarding residency criteria or decisions.
- Coordinate with departments such as Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts to ensure alignment of residency classification.
- Student Communication: Guide students through the residency appeal or reclassification process as needed.
- Policy & Compliance: Stay informed of changes to state and federal residency policies and support policy updates or implementation. - (Essential)
- Assist in developing internal procedures to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Maintain records in accordance with FERPA and university retention guidelines.
