Position Overview
The Director, Advancement Data Services and Reporting plays a leadership role on the Institutional Advancement team to implementing strategic data governance/database structure, collaborating with IT Data Analytics Governance team, and implementing business processes, data health, data segmentation, data reporting and analysis, and serving as an expert on data analytics and data reporting for Advancement Data Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six (6) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in Raisers Edge/NXT, Informatics, Academic Works
- Knowledge of best practices in prospect research, prospect management, gift processing and acknowledgment, moves management
- Extremely detail-oriented and committed to accuracy, creative thinker, systems thinker, selfstarter, work well as part of a larger team, ability to manage several projects concurrently
Preferred Qualifications
Expert level knowledge of Raisers Edge
Solution based thinking with ability to create workable processes within institution, department and software.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ResearchPoint, Luminate Online, Raisers Edge NXT, RE
- Possess a high level of organizational skills
- Understanding the importance of keeping up with changing industry standards.
- Able to verbally communicate with people from all walks of life.
- Understand the concept of knowing your audience.
- Possess a friendly and confident demeanor to encourage team members proper use of Raisers EdgeAdaptable, willing to learn, and willing to acquire or shift responsibilities.
- Knowledge of fundraising and stewardship practices
- Good understanding of core mission and operations
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- % - Supports the data needs of Institutional Advancement and HSCs various colleges, schools, and units. Generates adhoc and standard analytical, statistical, and financial reports using various platforms within RENXT to accurately, clearly, and effectively present data.Assists in the development and implementation of Institutional Advancement database standards, policies, and procedures, and maintains detailed documentation of internal business processes and workflows related to the database and other support applications. - ()
- % - Serves as Advancement database expert, ensures accurate and consistent information management, and assists in training users on the functionality, standards, and proper use of database(s).Assists in the preparation of internal and external benchmarking surveys, and financial management, and summary reports. - ()
- % - Maintains the structure of the Advancement database, including attributes, business rules, code tables, and other related functions, and ensures successful and seamless integration, communication, and feeds between database and other support applications (such as UNT EIS system, UNT Dataware house platform) with support from IT Data Analytics Team. - ()
- % - Conducts routine and scheduled Advancement database integrity checks and maintenance, and coordinates system upgrades, as released, with appropriate internal and external resources. - ()
- % - Maintains confidentiality of database records, ensures information security procedures are in place to protect this confidentiality, and oversees adherence to such procedures. Performs a wide range of administrative and logistical tasks. - ()
- % - Manages and develops any support staff, oversees workflow in a time sensitive environment with rigorous demands and tight deadlines, and works collaboratively with team to ensure the achievement of goals. - ()
